Wet on Wet Landscape Painting

Schedule: Thursday | 7:00pm-9:00pm

Wet on Wet Landscape Painting ǀ Thursdays ǀ 7-9pm ǀ Jack Finley| Ennis HS Art Room | Materials Fee

This is a “hands on” workshop where students will learn how to use brushes and pallet knives to create landscape paintings.  The students will be using oil paints specifically formulated for the “wet on wet” method of painting.  Each student will produce one painting per class.  The instructor will demonstrate how to use each of the tools to create specific effects and the students will master the techniques used.  The instructor will work with each of the students   to insure they are successful.  Verbal instructions will accompany demonstrations to insure students understand how and why each method is used and when to use it.  Students must sign up and pay by Janaury 8 to ensure supplies!

The instructor is Jack Finley.  After learning the “wet on wet” oil painting method, he worked the summer of 1989 at the Lake McDonald Lodge in Glacier National Park, as the house artist.  He painted landscapes in the Lobby and sold his paintings through the Gift Shop.   He has also worked craft shows and art fairs off and on over the past few years.   He has been engaged in artistic activities since grade school and is also accomplished in acrylics, pen and ink, and airbrush.

In order to give personal attention to each student, the class will be limited to no more than 6 students.  Each student should bring pen and paper for notes.  Students should also dress with the expectation that their cloths will suffer paint spatters.
