Intro to Map Interpretation and Land Navigation | Saturday, February 19th | 9 am-1 pm | Jim Giglinto | Jack Creek Preserve | $20 | Limit 10

This is a beginner course on using a compass to avoid getting lost while recreating in the wilderness. Class participants will learn the basics of topographic maps and their components and the use of a compass. The first part of the class will be conducted in the classroom after which we will use the information learned in a series of outdoor field exercises using our compasses and snowshoes! Please bring appropriate clothing for navigating in outdoor, winter conditions and a compass for the field exercise.

**Participants will need to bring their own snowshoes for this workshop. ECE or The Jack Creek Preserve will not be providing them.
